Other Important Details:
Who Is This For?
This is meant to be an immersive experience for anyone who wants to overcome nagging injuries and reclaim their physical ability.
Of course, you get what you want from it so the experience scales. If you're trainer or coach looking to level up this will be an incredible time of learning and growth.
But as long as the idea of training, learning, playing sports, and eating good food sounds fun, this is for you.
What Will I Get Out Of This?
I'll help you glimpse your potential again. More than learning how to move better, you will feel how training and play is supposed to be. I know what it's like to deal with nagging pains and stale performance for years. And I also know what it's like to reconnect with the joy of movement again.
This event is more than a class, seminar, or workout. It's an opportunity to have fun again. The lessons and felt experience you'll take from this will change you. And I don't say that lightly... You'll walk away from this inspired about what you can do and be. And that's a priceless gift that can change the direction of your life.
Can You Explain The Pricing?
A 75-minute session with me is $247. And you're getting 7 of those with a planned-out curriculum. (I'll be teaching you what I just spent a year writing about.) Also, I've got both meals covered. And these are real, quality restaurants... Not some cheap pizza!
But you're also getting my 3 best-selling pain fix programs, ($77 each) and a year membership to Barefoot Athletes. I host weekly coaching calls via zoom that you'll have access to. In the lead up to the Experience these calls will help you prepare. And after the Experience these calls will help you stay on track with what you've learned.
Plus, you'll get a copy of my book Born To Sprint when it comes out in a few months. I'll be teaching the content of this in the sessions at the event. It's what I just spent a year writing and researching.
But most importantly, the feeling you'll walk away from this with is priceless. You'll be re-inspired to train hard and play again.
All future Barefoot Experiences will be $1,500. But since this is the first one you're getting it at a launch price of $997. And once those 8 spots are gone, they're gone.
Can You Explain The Experience Sessions In More Detail?
9-10:30 - Training Session #1 -Steps, floor skills, and balance. Athleticism starts with the basics. This ice-breaker session gets you on the ground and in a playful mode. We'll work on balance games, mobility, and practice taking better walking steps.
10:30-11:30 - Presentation #1 - Physiology 101. Don't let the name scare you, this is a user-friendly story introduction to your body. I'll explain how fascia works, how bones form, what muscles do, and the secrets of healthy ligaments and tendons. This helps you visualize and overcome nagging issues.
11:30-1 - Training Session #2 - Skips, Strides, and Sprints. We build on the foundation from session #1 to learn how to run correctly. We'll progress from skips for coordination to strides for power. Depending on how you feel we might even get a few sprints in. I'll teach you how to find your own form for life-long, confident sprinting.
1-2 Lunch - Ordered from Rosemary's. This is a gem located in the nearby town of Dixon. My wife and I eat here often and we'd love to share it with you. I'll send the menu ahead of time so you can pick whatever you want. We'll order and have it delivered to the local park by the track for a group lunch.
2-3 - Presentation #2 - Pieces, Patterns, Problems. This is the major idea of my upcoming book Born To Sprint. I spent a year writing this and now I'm excited to share it with you. I'll explain how we learn to move and why most training methods are wasting your time. Problems are the key to understanding athleticism and learning.
3-4:30 - Training Session #3 - Sandbags and Calisthenics. Our last training session focuses on strength work to build functional muscle that matters. I'll teach you how to train in a way that keeps your brain and body fresh. If your body aches from years of training in the gym, this is the fresh start you need. All with minimal equipment!
4:30-6 - Hot Seats (15 Minutes Each). We'll finish the education part with a personal touch. Everyone gets 15 minutes of targeted questions to solve their biggest issue as we go around the group. I'll build on the experience of the day to help you break through your limiting beliefs with a solid plan moving forward. And you'll learn a ton by watching other people ask questions you hadn't thought of yet.
6-7:30 - Sport Session - Sand Volleyball. Last but not least, we play a game! Sand volleyball is one of my favorites and there are courts right beside the track. It's beginner friendly and easy to learn. We'll pull the day together with real context as the sun sets.
7:30-9 - Dinner - Mikuni. To end a perfect day, we'll get a big dinner as a group at my favorite place in Davis. Mikuni is a sushi restaurant but they have other options too. I couldn't think of a better way to send this day off than a dinner with new friends.
Will You Do This Again?
I'd like to and I plan to but I don't have anything on the calendar yet. So if this sounds interesting to you, I wouldn't wait.
Plus, you'll likely miss out on the special launch rate if you wait.
What Else Should I Know?
Can you tell me more about the "Class" part before the event? We'll have a group Zoom call on Wednesday, September 24th to introduce everyone and go over the plan for the month. I'll explain the program and what each participant should focus on specifically to prepare for the Experience.
You'll also be able to join the weekly group coaching calls for my online membership on Wednesdays for support leading up to the event. As far as programming, there are 10 sessions in each pain fix program. You can stack them or do one day at a time. The goal would be finishing those before the event but that's not mandatory. You at least need to complete the first five days of each though.
Can you tell me more about the location/venue? The whole Experience will take place at the track. I've scoped out bathrooms and changing areas to clean up before meals. You don't need anything except for some water and a change of clothes (or two). I'll provide all the equipment, both meals, and some drinks. We will have lunch delivered and eat it at the park next to the track. We will walk to dinner, a few blocks away. But I'll cover all these details with you as we get closer to the day!
What about weather? As far as weather, it's California so it'll be sunny and dry in October still. There is little chance of weather events.
What if something comes up and I can't make the event? We'll assess this on a case-by-case basis but I know that life happens. The most likely outcome will be transferring your spot to a future Experience. I plan to do these as a recurring event.
What if I have a current pain or am just getting over an injury? Obviously, this is case specific. Email me at graham@barefootsprinter.com and we can figure out your situation in more detail. But in general, this is exactly what you need. It's a serious commitment to healing and a path to make it happen.
What if I'm not athletic or not in great shape? You don't need to be a professional athlete for this. It's a group event but an individual experience. Everything is scalable to your ability. That's what I'm there for!
I mean it when I say I designed my version of a best day ever! I think you'll love it too. If you have any other personal questions, just email me at graham@barefootsprinter.com
